MOONY LAMP II

MOONY LAMP II is an emotional-support light sculpture for hibernating bears and sensitive cave-dwellers of every kind.

The base was hand-built in Brooklyn red clay, covered with scribbles made in ceramic chalk, and finished with a transparent glaze.

The lampshade was made by folding rice paper and dipping each sheet into bowls of colorful dye, inspired by the Shibori process. The paper was then cut and sewn by hand onto an iron frame.

The electrical cord has been embellished with macramé using green rope—the kind you pass by a hundred times at the hardware store, always hoping to find some use for!

Due to the artisanal nature of hand-built pieces, irregularities are to be expected. They are arguably the best part!
