Making beautiful, lasting pieces that feel good to live with.
We humans are sensitive creatures. The colors, materials and textures we interact with on a daily basis have a direct impact on our emotions, energy, and our sense of connection with the world. I aim to create functional art that is easy on the eyes and in the hands. My dream is for these pieces to bring joy into your life. I hope they can be shared between loved ones, and passed through the generations of your chosen family.
Minimizing waste and using recyclable or biodegradable materials whenever possible.
I try to have a soft impact on the earth’s health and resources, always looking for ways to keep my footprint as small as possible. All SOFTIE pieces are made in limited-edition batches to avoid creating excess. Clay and glaze is purchased locally, at BKLYN CLAY, where the pieces are also fired. All orders are packed with recycled shipping materials: reused cardboard boxes, junk mail, and catalogs. Any scrap paper or fabric generated from the studio is saved and used for packaging, wrapping paper, and cards.
Letting the process be slow and simple.
SOFTIE is an experiment in running a small business at a pace that can accommodate neurodivergence and periods of mental health difficulty.
